YANCYABRIL - SLOW IT DOWN

Yancyabril is set to become The Voice of NYC Alternative R&B!

NYC native singer-songwriter, Yancyabril, has a captivating energy, sweet melodic voice, and diverse sound that dazzles her audiences by fusing Pop, Folk, Jazz and R&B into her music.

Yancyabril has shared the stage AND been mentored by legendary artists such as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Bonnie Raitt, Smokey Robinson, Full Force member Paul Anthony, and drummer Carmine Appice. She was a featured singer for the Aretha Franklin tribute concert at Carnegie Hall. And in 2018, she was a featured singer for the well renowned gospel show, ‘Too Hot to Handle: The Gospel Messiah’ at the United Palace. She also had the chance to sing at the Apollo Theater Amateur night and most recently received a feature placement on the Grammy U EOY wrap-up mixtape, BMI’s Music Mondays playlist as well as iHeart Radio’s aBreak music station.

In 2022, Yancyabril finished in the Top 8 contestants on Season 2 of ‘The Voice Dominicana’. Since the competition Yancyabril has been pushing to take her career to the next level. She is ready to establish her name in the emerging NYC artists’ conversation.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Amy Winehouse, Sabrina Claudio, and Snoh Aalegra, Yancyabril has teamed up with RocNation’s independent distribution service EQ for the song ‘Slow It Down’, which is off her latest EP ‘Everything In It’s Time’.

‘Slow It Down’ showcases Yancyabril’s vocal talent over a dreamy acoustic and lush string arrangement with a beautiful, mellow sound. When asked about ‘Slow It Down’ she said the song is about “being in a relationship with someone and feeling like it's moving too fast and you're still not ready to fully let your guard down to truly make sure the person is who they present themselves to be and not be fooled”.

When she is not filming for internationally televised singing competitions or receiving mentorship from legendary musicians you can find her playing live sets around NYC.

‘Slow It Down’ is a soulful and beautiful song for those going through the same emotions and questioning their own relationships. Keep an eye on Yancyabril as 2023 is shaping up to be a breaking year for her.
