Our incredible Interns…

BONITA MAE
2023 Intern - AUS
This internship has benefited me immensely, my confidence in myself as substantially grown. I enjoyed the learning modules in the VMM, the portfolio work that included setting up things for our own business and learning about batching social media/emails and which basically all ties into learning to be intentional, organised and have better time management. I know all the content I've digested will help me build my business quicker than I could've done it myself, this is why #DIWO is an iconic term to coin.

JAMES ALPHONSE
2023 Intern - CAN
The internship has helped me to gain a grasp over the scope of the music industry. It is large and intimidating, but when put into perspective, you can see how a 1% change can fully solve a problem in 100 days or less. By chipping away at each piece of the puzzle, I found myself gradually becoming more at ease with the concept and, still, stunned by the sheer depth of this intimidating but exciting field. More importantly, the concept that a great piece of art is just the start of my business gradually led to a shift in mindset, which I feel I've come to embody over time.

SAMANTHA JOY
2023 Intern - AUS
I feel like the internship has given me a solid foundation on where to begin as an independent artist and has de-mystified the process and possibility of having a music career. It's also been great as it has taught me a lot and shown me where my lane is. A lot of the teaching did take me out of my comfort zone, i.e the social media, Facebook ads and marketing, stats and data, in a good way and I feel like the internship has challenged me to get going and begin my music career.

TORI TORRISI
2023 Intern - AUS
I loved that we got to learn a little bit about everything. Everything we kind of needed for a successful music career. I enjoyed the most learning about PR because those were the skills I lacked. And also about artist management, I may have found what I want to do in the music industry as well as my own music career. I feel more confident about my music career after this internship.

I think artists would benefit from interning at WM because you have so much knowledge to offer and if the artists are serious about starting a career in music, they need to know how a well established music business operates. WM is able to do that for them.

It’s a really good opportunity to see and understand the behind the scenes of a music business. This is so helpful when you’re looking at how to operate your own music business, and the things you might be missing.

Other artists should consider doing this because it is a very motivating way of being involved in the industry, in a very safe and supported role. I think you get as much out of it as what you put in, and I loved every minute of it!

As a new artist there’s about 87 billion things to know, but the internship brings together so much knowledge and the connections (who are also inspirations) to kick start a journey. I’m definitely referring back to what I learned in VMM in progressing through my career
